As you will have seen from our social media presence, we are members of a wonderful networking group in Peterborough called Connect Business Networking.
We meet every other week on a Thursday morning at Holiday Inn, Thorpe Wood for a brilliant networking event. We begin the event with some informal networking over a hot beverage, before we all get a chance to share 50 seconds about our business and to hear about all the other businesses in the room too.
This is followed by a delicious breakfast, which is all included in the price, and you can carry on chatting with the other people in business. This all helps to build up your connections and builds up trust and relationships too – which we feel are essential in running a successful business.
Then one member at each event gets a 10 minute spotlight on their business where they can talk more in depth about who they are what their business does and how we can help them. This is a really good part of the event as you get to find out more about those you network with.
Then we pass on any referrals, thanks and ‘business done’; you’ll be amazed at just how much business is passed between members in the room – it’s easy to see why we, and other business owners, come back every other week and stay as members of the group.
But, what is really exciting is that they are celebrating their 1st Birthday on 25th October, and they have asked us to be their party planners for this celebration. It will be an Open Day, so anyone in business can come along and see what the group is like.
As the party planner, I have been sworn to secrecy about what you can expect from the event, but we hope to have over 60 attendees and we know we will all have a great time.
